Fnatic 3-2 Faze clan

Swedish Fnatic could lift the Intel Extreme Masters trophy in the legendary Spodek Arena in Katowice after a battle for the ages in front of 8000 passionate esport fans.

Fnatic`s match with Faze clan lasted almost seven hours. The dramatic conclusion came in overtime on the fifth map. Faze took a clear lead by winning Cache (5-16) but Fnatic fought back, taking Inferno in overtime (22-20) and Overpass (16-7). Faze would not give up their own dream of getting a second Intel Grand Slam win and took map four, Mirage (16-11). Train was the decider and Fnatic prevailed (19-17) after a total of 149 rounds of Counter-Strike.

Robin «flusha» Rönnquist was the top player in the final, according to HLTV.org. He posted a whopping +28 rating from the series and his performance was crowned by an outrageous last map where his efforts won Fnatic numerous key rounds.

That was insane. I hope this was the grand final that the crowd deserved, said «flusha» when he was interviewed on stage seconds after clinching the victory.

The win was Fnatic`s third at the Intel Extreme Masters event in Katowice. It netted the Swedish squad 250 000 USD and their first Intel Grand Slam notch. They now have nine more chances to be the first team to take home the 1 million dollar prize.
